A few embedded storms might throw themselves into the mix, and that will cause for some local areas to see about an inch of rain total by the time all is said and done tomorrow morning. This, however, will mainly be a rain event, and the storms that do thrown themselves into the mix will be isolated and fairly weak. 80 inches of rain.
Why are there more tornado outbreaks during spring and autumn?
like i live in pittsburgh and west and north of us is under a tornado watch. i moved here in february and in march there was a lot of tornado warnings here and in may there was that missouri tornado and other outbreaks during may too. why is this???
The atmospheric wind fields tend to be more energetic outside of summertime across that region. At the same time during the spring and fall there tends to be warm a nd cool air masses close to the same areas.

Actually, I have lived in Pittsburgh for most of my life (except for Penn State for 4 years) and I can say that it's quite unusual to have tornado watches in this area of the country during those time periods.
